2024 Hot š„ Baseball Card Report Review [PART 3]: Next Generation
The future is bright! There are a ton of young names that saw tremendous card growth this year. I've tried to grab as many as possible (14), but I'm sure I've missed someāfeel free to comment!

Welcome to my 2024 season recap and review, where Iām looking back over the last 365 days and shining a light on the biggest card gainers.
Meaning, while there were a lot of āflash in the panā examples that took off and died down just as quickly, these are the cards that have come a long way from where they were about a year ago (give or take), and hopefully have a long runway in front of them.
In todayās part 3, Iām looking at the many, many new names that have gotten a taste of the MLB or are on the cusp, with cards that have made quite the climb from where they were a year ago (give or take).
Questions Iād be asking:
Why these players/cards and not others?
What caused these to rise?
When do cards rise and fall?
Who might be on this list at the end of next season??
In absolutely no particular order:
1. Jhonkensy Noel
Ok, maybe Noel is first because heās still playing, but no particular order after that! The 2022 Bowman Sapphire auto of āBig Christmasā went from steady $10-$12 sales from January to June, to jumping to $69 at the end of June, and then going through a series of ups and downs before last selling at $70 on 9/3.
His base Chrome 1st auto last sold around $10:
2. Jacob Wilson
Wilsonās values took off like a rocket this year, with his 2023 Bowman Chrome auto moving from around the $55 line to taking the first big step up to over $100 in May and June, and then over and close to $200 in July.
Wilson came up for Oakland, singled in his first at-bat and then promptly left the game with injury. His values are down now, last selling for $77 on 9/17, but heās only 22 with plenty of time to climb.
3. Jackson Jobe
I guess Jobe should have been number 2 based on my Noel logic, but I have a lot to get through and heāll be just fine right here.
Not the best playoff outing for Jobe a couple of days ago, but itās not like he was getting smacked around the ballpark.
In terms of card values, Jobeās 2021 Bowman Draft Chrome auto was $30-$40 in December to March, only to break out to nearly $90 at the end of Spring Training. The card has been hovering around there until October, where it most recently sold for $110 on 10/2.
4. Chandler Simpson
We have seen some record breaking and tremendous performances in both the major and minor leagues this year. So while Ohtani flashed power and speed in the majors, Chandler Simpson was tearing up the base paths in the minors, stealing over 100 bases.
His 2022 Bowman Chrome Draft Refractor auto was down around $5-$10 until April, before jumping to $20-$30 for most of the season, and rocketing to $30-$40.
Last sale was $35 on 9/29.
