6 More Potential Baseball Breakouts (Because TikTokers Told Me To)
Even though I run things as “Ballcard Genius,” I don’t know everything. I love when people suggest names to me, and here are a few I've heard recently.

This is not buying or investment advice. I’m simply reporting the data I’m seeing. Please do your own research and make your own decisions. Just because cards have increased in value up to this point, it doesn’t mean they will continue to do so.
I’m getting all of this data from either the the Market Movers or Card Hedge platform. There are not my platforms, I’m simply a user and affiliate of them. If you want to do your own research, you can grab a free trial to Market Movers with code BALLCARDGENIUS. You’d also get 20% off of your membership forever if you wanted to continue once your trial has been completed. You can also grab a free trial for Card Hedge as well.
These tools aren’t perfect; no tool is. I’ve seen instances where a graded card was being included in the raw numbers, which might cause a huge spike in value. So trust, but verify.
Even though I run things as “Ballcard Genius,” I don’t know everything. I know a lot about specific things, but certainly not everything.
So, whenever I post a video or article about MLB prospects, I’m totally OK with people throwing additional names at me to check on.
Here are 5 that I’ve recently heard about. Some I’ve talked about before, while others this is the first time typing their names.
1. Chad Patrick, Brewers
P, B/T: R/R
6' 1"/205
Age: 26
May I present to you, International League Pitcher of the Year, Chad Patrick:
Patrick went 14-1 with a 2.90 ERA (136.1ip, 44er) and 145 strikeouts in 26 appearances (24 starts) for the Sounds in 2024. He led the International League in wins, ERA and strikeouts to become the third pitcher to win the league’s Triple Crown since its modern inception in 1912, joining Toronto’s Al Cicotte (1960) and Rochester’s Dennis Martinez (1976). He is the third Nashville pitcher to win a league’s Triple Crown, joining Stefan Weaver (Southern League in 1982) and Hammond (American Association in 1990).
Patrick was just added to the Brewers’ 40-man and it’s noted that he could get a look for his debut this season.
Even though he’s a pitcher, this is the kind of card case that catches my attention as someone who could be flippable.
1st Bowman Chrome: 2021 Bowman Draft Chrome
1st Bowman Auto: 2023 Bowman PAPER
He doesn’t have a 1st Bowman Chrome auto, nor does he have a Bowman Chrome auto in general. That means that the 2023 Bowman Paper auto he does have is really cheap. I just bought 6 of them on COMC for about $3-$5; cheapest BIN on eBay is $5 shipped.
Why?
I’m not saying you have to! This is why I did it.
Say he comes up and throws a gem his first outing or does something newsworthy. There is probably only one card people will be flocking to, and that’s the 2023 auto. This is the type of scenario that causes cards to take off at an almost 180 degree trajectory. Of course, he has to perform, but I’m simply saying on the card front.
Say he comes up and gets obliterated every single start and never does anything good ever. I’ll be out $30.
$30 is the type of risk I like to take.
Now, for number 2 on the list…
