7 MORE Potential Baseball Breakouts (And How Their Raw, PSA 9 & PSA 10s Compare)
This time of year, there's no shortage of predictions. A new day, a new crop of young stars being tagged as a potential '25 breakout. Let's take a look, along with where it makes sense to buy.

Disclosure: This is not buying or investment advice. I’m simply reporting the data I’m seeing. Please do your own research and make your own decisions. Just because cards have increased in value up to this point, it doesn’t mean they will continue to do so.
I’m getting all of this data from either the the Market Movers or Card Hedge platform. There are not my platforms, I’m simply a user and affiliate of them. If you want to do your own research, you can grab a free trial to Market Movers with code BALLCARDGENIUS. You’d also get 20% off of your membership forever if you wanted to continue once your trial has been completed. You can also grab a free trial for Card Hedge as well.
These tools aren’t perfect; no tool is. I’ve seen instances where a graded card was being included in the raw numbers, which might cause a huge spike in value. So trust, but verify.
Let’s just get this out of the way—no Chad Patricks here! Hopefully some of you were able to take advantage of the Brewers’ pitcher low price tag and card scarcity for a few flips. I’ve sold 3 for now:
Bought for $3.50, sold for $19 before COMC cash-out fee
Bought for $3.50, sold for $19 before COMC cash-out fee
Bought for $3, sold for $14 before COMC cash-out fee
These are more well-known names, most of which have been around and thus have a ton of cards out there.
I got all of these names from this article: 10 players who could be 2025 versions of '24's breakout stars
1. Pete Crow-Armstrong, Chicago Cubs
In my last video about MLB breakouts, I got a number of comments about Pete Crow-Armstrong. Known mostly for his glove, the Cubs' dynamic outfielder is poised for a significant breakout in the 2025 MLB season according to his fans and collectors.
After being acquired from the Mets in 2021, Crow-Armstrong has developed his skills, particularly his elite speed and defensive. In the latter part of the 2024 season, though, he also showcased his plate potential via .289/.337/.469 from late July onward.
His defensive prowess in center has been consistently impressive, and with continued refinement of his swing, PCA could become a cornerstone in the Cubs' lineup, contributing both offensively and defensively. (Source: SI)
On the card front, this isn’t one I personally would jump on given just how many cards he already has out there and the fact that he’s already top of mind for many, but I might take a look for some deals at yesterday’s prices.
Here is a look at his 2020 Bowman Draft Chrome Auto:
Not sure there is much here to really get me excited. His last raw 1st Chrome auto sold for $150, and I don’t see anything on eBay for less than $230.
Same with his 2024 Topps Chrome Rookie Auto:
Lowest raw BIN on eBay is around $50.
But again, he has a ton of cards out there. Keep digging! Use the Card Search Engine, use search operators.
