Friday Five: Pitching Surges & Percolating Prospects
As the week winds down, five names are heating up. Now, I wouldn't say these are the hottest cards we've ever featured...but maybe that's a good thing?

This is not buying or investment advice. I’m simply reporting the data I’m seeing. Please do your own research and make your own decisions. Just because cards have increased in value up to this point, it doesn’t mean they will continue to do so.
I’m getting all of this data from either the Market Movers or Card Hedge platform. These are not my platforms, I’m simply a user and affiliate of them. If you want to do your own research, you can grab a free trial to Market Movers with code BALLCARDGENIUS. You’d also get 20% off of your membership forever if you wanted to continue once your trial has been completed. You can also grab a free trial for Card Hedge as well.
These tools aren’t perfect; no tool is. I’ve seen instances where a graded card was being included in the raw numbers, which might cause a misleading spike in value. So trust, but verify.
As usual, these aren’t the guys everyone’s rushing to search right now… but they’re putting up numbers, moving up levels, and showing signs of life in the hobby. That’s where opportunity tends to live: just below the radar.
With that said, to my point in the disclosure above and in all my videos—don’t feel like you have to buy every single one of these players. I mean, if that’s your strategy and you can make it work, by all means!
But more than anything, let this be a spark. A reminder to keep tabs on movement others might be missing so you can strike when the time is right (whether now or later).
1. Jansel Luis, Diamondbacks High-A
News to me, but Jansel Luis is the DBacks’ #9 prospect, and 4th highest ranking infielder behind Jordan Lawlar, Demetrio Crisantes, and Tommy Troy.
Only 20 years old, Luis is having a nice year, now in High-A hitting .278 with 4 homers, 38 RBI, and 17 SBs.
Now, with this chart below, this is actually based on total sales rather than price change. I did that because while the value of his 1st Bowman Chrome hasn’t really increased, the volume has thanks to an 11-sale day on 6/30 coming after an 8-sale day on 6/29.
Lowest-priced 1st Bowman Chrome Auto as BIN on eBay is about $10 shipped.
Recent Sales:
7/1/2025 3 sales, $5.48 average
6/30/2025 11 sales, $6.24 average
6/29/2025 8 sales, $5.40 average
