Sunday Surges: Six Names Heating Up the Hobby
I'll admit...a couple of these might not be moving higher for much longer, if at all. Others, though command your utmost attention.

This is not buying or investment advice. I’m simply reporting the data I’m seeing. Please do your own research and make your own decisions. Just because cards have increased in value up to this point, it doesn’t mean they will continue to do so.
I’m getting all of this data from either the Market Movers or Card Hedge platform. These are not my platforms, I’m simply a user and affiliate of them. If you want to do your own research, you can grab a free trial to Market Movers with code BALLCARDGENIUS. You’d also get 20% off of your membership forever if you wanted to continue once your trial has been completed. You can also grab a free trial for Card Hedge as well.
These tools aren’t perfect; no tool is. I’ve seen instances where a graded card was being included in the raw numbers, which might cause a misleading spike in value. So trust, but verify.
Sunday isn’t just for scanning box scores—it’s for spotting signals. Promotions, hot streaks, and subtle shifts in card sales all point to something stirring.
These six names popped this week (or much more recently), and whether it’s a Triple-A tear, a bullpen audition, or a sneaky call-up, the market tends to follow the performance.
Let’s get into it.
1. Andrew Abbott, Reds
You won’t see Andrew Abbott’s name on the ERA leaderboard, but that’s only because he is just under the innings qualification (someone check me on that…I think it’s 1IP per game… Abbott has 75.1 innings pitched, and the Reds have played 78 games).
Abbot has twirled his way to a 1.79 ERA over that time, and to put things in perspective, Skenes is leading the majors with a 1.85 ERA (over 102 innings).
