The Flip Files: $100 in Profit, and a Lesson in Continuing Education and Sales Fees

Even when the wells of profit run dry, there’s always something new to learn. Whether it’s image variations, fee math, or quick comping on the fly, every flip - win or not - is part of the process.

This is not buying or investment advice. I’m simply reporting the data I’m seeing. Please do your own research and make your own decisions. Just because cards have increased in value up to this point, it doesn’t mean they will continue to do so.

My 3 favorite methods of finding sports cards to flip for profit:

Method 1: Check CollX regularly for the same big name players and sneaky sets
Method 2: Sort COMC results by “recently added” to find card deals before others
Method 3: Learn about sneaky cards and check CollX for those cards.

You hear a lot about methods #1 and #2 for good reason—they continually deliver.

But like all things, the well of opportunities can run dry at times. When it happens, you need to find a new source, or, you need to learn about new cards to search for.

So, while I don’t reach into my method #3 bag a ton, I do at times, and I actually enjoy it more than any method because it always leads to new knowledge and thus opens doors to cards I wasn’t even thinking about (which feeds into method #1).

Here are my sales that led to $100 in profit the last couple of days, some tips, and lessons to takeaway.
