Tuesday Tremors: 5 Cards Starting to Shake

Tuesday Tremors: 5 Cards Starting to Shake

The names here aren't leading the pack—but they could be gaining ground. Whether it’s a quiet debut, a Rookie League surge, or steady sales, these five are making enough noise to warrant a peek.

This is not buying or investment advice. I’m simply reporting the data I’m seeing. Please do your own research and make your own decisions. Just because cards have increased in value up to this point, it doesn’t mean they will continue to do so.

I’m getting all of this data from either the Market Movers or Card Hedge platform. These are not my platforms, I’m simply a user and affiliate of them. If you want to do your own research, you can grab a free trial to Market Movers with code BALLCARDGENIUS. You’d also get 20% off of your membership forever if you wanted to continue once your trial has been completed. You can also grab a free trial for Card Hedge as well.

These tools aren’t perfect; no tool is. I’ve seen instances where a graded card was being included in the raw numbers, which might cause a misleading spike in value. So trust, but verify.

It’s not always about the players topping the prospect list or shattering minor league records. Sometimes it’s the subtle movement - small bumps in sales volume, a quiet call-up, or a streaking stat line in the rookie league - that signals value before the masses catch on.

That’s the idea behind this week’s Tuesday Tremors: a handful of names who haven’t fully popped yet but are starting to simmer.

Each one has a reason to keep tabs—from Didier Fuentes’ fastball buzz to Jhonny Level’s teenage power—and their card prices remain surprisingly approachable.

1. Humberto Cruz, Padres Rookie Affiliate

That’s right—this doesn’t really look like a “hot card chart.” Yet, the last few times I’ve checked Market Movers for hot cards, Humberto Cruz’s name pops up.

Now, my filters are susceptible to new release hype (minimum of 6 sales over the last 7 days with the last sale being $5 or more), but I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t pass it along.

At the end of the day, hot or not, Cruz is 18 and the Padres’ #4 prospect, just behind Kash Mayfield who we talked about not too long ago. I can’t say for certain, but $5 for a team’s #4 prospect seems pretty low.

Lowest-priced 1st Bowman Chrome auto listed on eBay as BIN is about $7 shipped.
