This Card is HOT: Speedy AFL Player Comes out of Nowhere to Grab Hobby Headlines

This baseball card is extremely hot, and I bet if I gave you 100 guesses to figure out who it was, you wouldn’t be able to.

This isn’t buying advice—do your own research and make your own decisions.

The player is 5'6", 24 years old.

He hit 10 home runs last year with a batting average under .300, but he has speed, plays in the Yankees organization, and might secure a spot next year.

I only mention his height and age because he’s not the 20-year-old towering, powering type like Bryce Eldridge, who usually attracts collectors.

The player is Caleb Durbin, a speedster excelling in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) right now. His name has come up frequently regarding a potential role with the Yankees and his position.

I first discovered Durbin while writing last week’s AFL article, where Durbin's first Bowman Chrome auto was selling for around $8 on November 3rd.

I bought what I could on COMC at that price, and I’ve sold all three of three cards I purchased, each for around $25, $30, and $35 before fees.

I’m sharing this to illustrate my approach to spotting up-and-coming cards and prospects. Meaning, currently, I’m not buying this card at the $35 to $40 range.

However, I’m still a buyer if I can find it for around $10—I just bought a refractor yesterday for $15.75 shipped.

These cards are still out there. If you already own his cards, now might be a good time to consider selling, depending on your outlook. And if you don’t have any, search different online marketplaces beyond eBay and look for these cards while they’re still at yesterday’s prices.
