"A lot of work." 🤪 Time for a vacation after that one.

Great video, btw. Sure, the P&L math is pretty basic, and kinda decides for you on the process. And the 'gamble' on the PSA grade is always there, for those thrill-seekers. But what I liked most is the info on how Comc works, or never touching a card throughout a purchase and flip. Questions though; When do you pull out money? Ever? Do you claim on a 1099 at the end of your tax year? With a 10% penalty/tax, I'd be weary of using it for anything other than card purchases and flips. Also, buying raw cards online. How confident are you with spotting surface damage, something that gives me nightmares when looking at images of raw cards through a computer screen.

Great comment and questions. I’ll withdraw a couple times per year. You can also use funds for blowout gift cards at a lesser percentage than withdrawal. If you wanna see the money, selling on COMC and withdrawing is close to sending card home and selling on eBay and paying their fees. I won’t comment on taxes since I’m not a tax pro and follow guidance of others.

For buying raw cards online I’ve had zero luck on eBay. COMC now has a pre-grade service for cards newer than your 2000. Its $5/card pass or fail with pass being likely the card will get a 9. I have a really good gem rate on the 10+ cards going this route.

Yeah, eBay is basically a nightmare for raw card surfaces. So, you purchase thru Comc auctions or buy-nows, when you win the item goes into their "vault"? Sorta like ALTs vault, I'm assuming. Except with ALT you can ONLY upload slabs with PSA or BGS serial numbers. The others you have to contact them for, and they'll upload for you.

Anyway, they hold the card for you, then you pay them $5 to pre-grade... which is great. And then, are PSA graders like on site at Comc to do grading, or do your cards still need to be sent out for a couple weeks?

Yeah so two ways. You can either buy directly from COMC.com or via their listings on eBay (most every card on comc.com is cross listed to eBay, but at a higher price). So, if buying fixed price, it's cheaper to buy directly COMC versus eBay. For auctions, correct—you can win an auction being sold by COMC on eBay. Since it's already in their vault, ownership is just transferred to you...you can then resell, ship home, or sit on it. COMC also has an app where you can do most of this as well.

With the cards in their possession, you can just click a few buttons for them to pre-grade. Be advised it's only for cards newer than 2000 and a big one, if it passes their pre-grade, you must send to get it graded. Once you're ready to grade, COMC sends out to PSA, and you wait to get your grade. I feel like turnaround times are the same as sending them in yourself, from experience.

That's kinda wild, NO pre-grades only. It must now run the PSA gauntlet! LOL. And it's PSA exclusive with Comc? Or are they setup so you can choose BGS? (for whatever reason)

And have you had pretty good luck so far with raw card purchases from comc/eBay passing pre-grade? ...I'm also wondering if Comc kinda forces a buy now or auction listing to report card flaws? Like if they wouldn't pass the eye-test. They scan a Crap-Ton of cards in, don't they? For a fee, I mean. 😉
